Our projects
This season, communities across Aotearoa came together to help build a better understanding of our native bats through the National Bat Survey. From first-time participants to experienced conservation contributors, people deployed detectors, explored local environments, discovered bat activity, and generated valuable ecological insights that contribute to conservation at a national scale.
Together, more than 2 million acoustic files were processed, transforming recordings into meaningful data and creating one of our biggest seasons of participation yet.
Explore our Projects page to discover the final survey results, key statistics, stories from the field, and the other conservation initiatives helping turn curiosity into action across New Zealand.
